What we do
ThePoolDeck.com.au helps Australians keep backyard pools safe, attractive and affordable to run. We publish guides on pool fencing rules, state registration and certificate schemes, supervising children, CPR and first aid, decking and paving, slip resistance, deck maintenance, water chemistry, saltwater chlorinators, pumps, heating and running costs. Our pool calculator estimates your pool's volume and pump turnover time.
About this domain
The name "The Pool Deck" has been used by unrelated businesses in the past, including a rooftop venue in Melbourne that has since closed. The domain was relaunched in 2026 as an independent guide, with every page written from scratch. We are not connected with any previous user of the name, and we don't build pools, sell products or carry out inspections.
How we research
We base our guides on official and authoritative sources, including:
- state and territory building regulators and local councils;
- Royal Life Saving Society Australia and ANZCOR;
- Product Safety Australia and Safe Work Australia;
- Standards Australia references and WoodSolutions;
- environment protection authorities and the Energy Rating program.
We list sources on every page and show when each guide was last updated. We don't invent statistics, prices or product claims. Read our editorial policy.
Not professional advice
Our guides are general information, not legal, building or medical advice. Pool rules vary between states and change over time. For your situation, check with your council or state regulator, a licensed pool safety inspector or certifier, or a qualified professional. Learn CPR from an accredited training provider.
How we're funded
We may earn a commission from some links and from clearly labelled featured listings. This never affects what our guides say. See our affiliate disclosure and feature your business page.
